The 16 hour initial permit course fee is $439.

We do not charge an additional fee to qualify you on your 2nd and 3rd handgun. The course fee is all inclusive, and there are no additional costs.

Where is the classroom?

In the Studio City area (91604). Details will be provided before class.

Where do you do the live fire qualification?

We use ranges in the San Fernando Valley and in West Los Angeles.

How much ammunition do I need for the live fire?

You will need 72 rounds for your first handgun and 20 rounds per each additional handgun.

What agencies have approved you as a training provider?

Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Beverly Hills PD, Santa Monica PD, Torrance PD, Montebello PD, and Gardena PD.

As of January 2026, we are instructing LASD applicants, and any applicants who use the LASD approved training provider list, via our relationship with LA Progressive Shooters.

How is class structured?

We offer classes on Saturday & Sunday, and sometimes on Friday & Saturday. Class begins at 10:00 AM.

If you can't do class on back to back days, you can attend one day and then do the second day at a later time.

How do 8 hour renewal classes work?

The renewal curriculum is usually taught on the first day of a weekend class.

Do you offer private 1-on-1 CCW training?

Yes. Contact us to discuss pricing and availability.

Do you offer firearms training?

Yes. We can do private lessons and will offer group classes in the future.

Do you offer courses for out of state CCWs like Arizona and Utah?

Yes. We offer Utah CFP (concealed firearms permit) classes. We offer all students the opportunity to get their Utah CFP training done at a discounted price.

Regarding Arizona - Please be aware that any certificate of California CCW training will work for getting an AZ CCW. You do not need to pay an extra fee for an "endorsement" or something like that. You can take the certificate we give you for completing our CA course and use it to apply for an AZ CCW. We will offer AZ specific classes in the future.

Which is better: the Utah or Arizona CCW?

They are both roughly the same in terms of state reciprocity for a non-resident (about 30). The Utah permit covers Washington (Arizona does not) and the Arizona permit covers New Mexico (Utah does not).

There is also an important difference in training requirements. Arizona requires 8 hours of instruction and a live fire qualification, whereas Utah requires only 4 hours of instruction and no live fire.

Do you recommend CCW insurance?

Yes.

Do you have any references I could speak to?

Yes. If you'd like to speak to a past student, let us know.

What is your refund policy?

Refunds are subject to a $25 dollar service fee.
